This document discusses the value of sharing biodiversity information, the data sharing issues, and the proposed framework on biodiversity information sharing within the context of people, data and information processes, and information technology. The first version of this document was presented to the National Contact Points during their meeting in Tagaytay City in 2008. The current version has been updated and reformatted, and appropriate annexes added to further substantiate guidelines, protocols and policies relating to biodiversity information sharing.
